From north of Maitland to Coffs Harbour NSW, is the limited remains of what was once a extensive rail network of railway stations. Out of 75 or so stations built since early 1900s/1920s, only about 12 are truly of a heritage or historical nature. These critical stations are the sole connection to the North Coast past. One station at Martins Creek, was recently demolished in 2009, showing heritage can still be destroyed in this modern era sadly. I encourage rail and heritage enthusiasts to learn, get out and about and photo the stations before they change or are demolished….
